What Not to Do With: Tomato and Bell Pepper

Does tomato easily get mushed when you cut it? Ever wonder how restaurants have those perfectly shaped little cubes of tomato? Why is bell pepper so difficult to cut regardless how sharp your knife is?

This is because you are using the wrong knife. In fact, cutting bell pepper from the skin side is probably one of the easiest way to dull your knife.

There are a lot of knives out there with various shape and sizes. When cutting soft vegetable with glossy and rubbery exterior, you need a knife with coarse finish or a serrated knives.

For bell pepper, it's best to cut from the inside.
